Bio / CV
Rachel Davis is a fine artist working at ICB ART in Sausalito, California. Her work is shaped by thirty years of Sogetsu ikebana with master teacher Yoshi Hollis — a practice rooted in asymmetry, impermanence, and the beauty of imperfection. She paints in conversation with artists Richard Diebenkorn, Alice Neel, and Egon Schiele.
Davis’s career as a clinical psychologist honed her ability to see beneath the surface. Now that close attention is turned to rich, layered canvases that move between intimate figurative work and botanical abstraction. Her psychology background informs her teaching as well: she’s helped over a thousand artists lean into creative freedom through live workshops and her online botanical Gelli printmaking course.
Davis is actively involved in leadership at ICB ART, a community of over 100 artists.
Davis’s work is held in private collections across the United States, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia.
